Solid pewter pin: a butterfly with veined wings and beaded edges, in relief. Two posts, hand-applied antique silver patina. Made in our family workshop in France.
The butterfly is a tattoo classic. It stands for transformation, the caterpillar becoming a butterfly, and for freedom. A simple, strong design, often seen on lady bikers’ vests.
Real relief
The butterfly is sculpted in full volume, up to 5 mm thick, with its veined wings, their beaded edges, its ringed body and openwork antennae. Its edges are flat, so it sits flat against the leather, with no sharp edge sticking out or catching. Under the patina, every vein stands out.
Two fastening posts
At 32 mm wide, this pin is held by two posts: it stays straight and won’t spin on your vest. To make sure you never lose it on the road, try our locking pin backs (you’ll need two), which fit all our pins.
Handmade, piece by piece
In our family workshop, since 1989, each pin is cast in solid pewter in our own moulds, deburred by hand, then patinated to give it the antique silver look that brings out every detail. No two are exactly alike.
In real life
Our photos already show the difference in finish compared with mass-produced pins. But they can’t convey the true relief or the weight of solid pewter: in your hand, the pin feels more substantial and looks even better than on screen.
