Vegvísir Viking Compass Pin in solid pewter, for your vest, jacket or saddlebag. 3 posts, hand-applied aged silver patina. Made in our family workshop in France.
The Vegvísir
The Vegvísir is the “compass” of the old Icelanders: eight arms ending in runes, in a frame of knots and rivets. According to tradition, whoever carries it never gets lost, even in a storm. The right symbol for those who spend their life on the road. The pin is 7 mm (0.28 in) thick at the centre, with flat edges that sit flush on the leather.
Three attachment points
At 34 mm (1.34 in) in diameter, this pin sits on three posts: it stays firmly in place on your vest. To make sure you never lose it on the road, try our locking pin backs (you’ll need three).
Handmade, piece by piece
In our family workshop, since 1989, every pin is cast in solid pewter in our own moulds, deburred by hand and given an aged silver patina. The patina brings out every detail of the relief, and pewter never rusts. And it looks even better in real life than in the photo: the relief and patina really show once it’s in your hand.
