Small “1%” diamond patch in embossed full-grain leather, 77 × 44 mm (3 × 1.7 in), sew-on. 4 colours: red, brown, white or black. Made in our workshop in France.
The story of the 1%
It all started in July 1947, in Hollister, a small town in California. A motorcycle rally drew thousands of riders, far more than expected. The party got out of hand, it made the headlines and one photo went around the whole country. Legend has it that the American motorcycle federation then declared that 99% of motorcyclists were law-abiding citizens, and that the trouble came from the remaining 1%. The freest bikers immediately took that number as their own and proudly sewed it on their vests. The 1% diamond was born.
The spirit of the diamond
Still today, the 1% stands for those who ride their own way and follow their own road, without asking anyone’s permission.
Four colours
Red, brown, white or black: the number and the borders are raised, embossed right into the leather. The brown is a special hand-applied patina that gives the leather a beautiful aged look: every piece is unique. On the black one, the relief catches the light for a more discreet look.
Small size, sew-on
At 44 mm (1.7 in) wide and 77 mm (3 in) high, it fits anywhere: on the front of your vest, your jacket, your denim jacket, your saddlebag or your cap. It is easy to sew on, by hand or by machine.
Made in our workshop
In our family workshop, since 1989, every patch is cut from 3 mm (0.12 in) full-grain cowhide, embossed and then coloured with our own technique. The colours last: they stand up to the weather and to washing. A thick, sturdy leather that only gets better with the miles. And it looks even better in real life than in the photo.
