A V-Twin engine in leather
A large 23 cm tall patch in the shape of a V-Twin engine: the two finned cylinders, the heads, the oval air filter and the crankcase with its bolts. The whole design is embossed in relief in 2.5 mm full-grain cowhide, tanned in France. Three colours: antique brown, red or white, with the relief in black. To sew on the back of a vest or a jacket.
On its own or with a pewter motif
The patch on its own is €55. You can also have a pewter motif riveted on the air filter, in the centre: Live to Ride (metal, orange or black), Live Free Ride Hardcore or Maltese cross. Each motif is cast in solid pewter in our moulds, deburred by hand and given an antique silver patina, and we rivet it straight onto the leather in our workshop. The price of the motif is added to the patch (€20 or €25).
Pre-punching option (+€5)
Sewing your patch on yourself, by hand, is the personal touch that makes all the difference on a vest. On a leather vest you also have to pierce the vest leather to pass the needle. With the pre-punching option, we punch the edge of the patch in advance, with a hole every 2 mm. The patch then becomes your template: glue it to the vest with leather glue so it stays put, pierce the vest leather through its holes, and both line up perfectly. All that is left is to sew with a saddle stitch, using two needles and waxed thread: it is the strongest stitch for leather, and you will easily find a tutorial by searching “leather saddle stitch” on YouTube. For machine sewing, the unpunched patch is better.
Made in our workshop
In our family workshop, since 1989, our patches are cut from full-grain leather made especially for Traveller Shop by a French tannery, then embossed. In the photo the relief barely shows: in real life the design stands out clearly, and the patch looks even better.
