Solid pewter pin: a cross bearing the face of Christ crowned with thorns and the INRI inscription, in relief. Four posts, hand-applied antique silver patina. Made in our family workshop in France.
At the top of the cross, four letters: INRI, for Iesus Nazarenus Rex Iudaeorum, “Jesus of Nazareth, King of the Jews”. According to the Gospel of John, it was the inscription Pilate had placed above the crucified Christ. Here, the cross and the thorn-crowned face are one: a sober, strong symbol of faith, for your vest or your jacket.
Real relief
The face of Christ is sculpted in full volume at the heart of the cross, up to 8 mm thick at the centre, with the crown of thorns, the locks of hair and the beard. The background of the cross is stippled, which makes the face and the INRI plaque stand out under the patina. The 4 mm edges are outlined with a raised border.
Four fastening posts
At 50 mm tall, this pin is held by four posts: it stays perfectly straight and won’t move, even on the road. To make sure you never lose it, try our locking pin backs (you’ll need four), which fit all our pins.
Handmade, piece by piece
In our family workshop, since 1989, each pin is cast in solid pewter in our own moulds, deburred by hand, then patinated to give it the antique silver look that brings out every detail. No two are exactly alike.
In real life
Our photos already show the difference in finish compared with mass-produced pins. But they can’t convey the true relief or the weight of solid pewter: in your hand, the pin feels more substantial and looks even better than on screen.
